I stupidly made nearly everything on the Grilled Cheese mesh, which is unnecessarily huge and really not very practical. So I finally remade them. A few are still available on Grilled Cheese, but most are on Surfing the Universe, which is a much, much better size. Yes, I'm aware that they're available in Sims 3, but that doesn't do me much good in Sims 2...

Pack Includes:
- 4 Tavern Signs in two sizes (2 Fable 2, 2 Fable 3 on Grilled Cheese and Surfing the Universe)
- A nearly complete set of the collectible paintings (I left Saker and Reaver out.) on the Lady in Red mesh.
- Several recruitment posters, advertisements, and political posters. (Including the Albion Ale girl on Engineered Angst.)
(I'm not going to list them in full, due to length. Generally, I included the threatening ones and the military ones. I couldn't find the coronation ones, and I left out some of the sillier advertisements, such as Trepanning, Peasant Prodder, Chocorat and Steam Hat.)

All mesh credits go to Maxis. All art credits go to Lionhead Studios. All I did was copypaste and run things through SimPE. Some posters require University or Night Life to work. Sorted by mesh.

Some Notes... )

You get Ben Finn as your preview images because he's my favorite. This lady prefers smartarse blonds in uniform. Sorry Reaver and Logan fans...

The .rar contains pictures of each woman, both in poster form and in the pictures I used to make the posters.

Historical Context:
As seen on Tony Robinson's Worst Jobs in History (Season 2, The Urban Age...go about a minute into this clip for his explanation.)

In the early Industrial Age (Georgian and early Victorian), people living in cities stopped working according to the sun and began working shifts in factories. This called for new forms of entertainment and, thus, new forms of employment. One such form of entertainment was watching fights. This ranged from dogs fighting rats, to cockfights, to boxing. This mostly happened on the outskirts of the cities, and one popular group to watch fight was women, who often fought dirtier than the men. They fought in many ways, ranging from bare-knuckle fistfights to fighting with battle axes, and they aimed to cause wounds, not to kill, though there were occasional deaths. Most of the women who did this work were very poor women who worked as market vendors or factory workers during the day and fought for extra money. Fighters were paid in the form of tips thrown into the ring. There were also grudge fights between women that were used to settle scores.

Yeah, I know...another small webcomic poster set from me. Wondermark is a webcomic made entirely from 19th century woodcuts that would appeal to fans of sarcasm, history nerds, and steampunk enthusiasts, theoretically. These posters are actually available to buy as real posters through the webcomic artist's shop, and I like a little real-ness in my game, so I turned them into Sim posters. There are four total, two squares and two rectangles. The one called "Mysterious Homicides" isn't shown in the preview, because if I showed you, it wouldn't be much of a mystery, now would it?

Meshes by Maxis. "Mysterious Homicides" and "Beardarchy" both require Nightlife.

Gunnerkirgg Court is a webcomic about nature, magic, and technology and two young girls. An interesting feature of the webcomic is its alchemical treatises, of which there have been four so far. The artist bases these digital paintings on medieval alchemical treatises, which were paintings that hid chemical and alchemical formulas in symbols placed throughout the art, readable only by a well-trained eye.

The four alchemical treatises are numbered in the order they showed up in the comic, since they aren't otherwise named in the comic. So here's the guide for which is which:

Treatise 1: Yellow background, girls making hand symbols
Treatise 2: Night Scene, girls with hammer and torch
Treatise 3: Girls walking into building, one looks back
Treatise 4: Ghost with Sword, girls face opposite

Another image from the comic "Black Dogs of the British Isles" is also included in the .rar file.

826 Valencia is both a pirate supply store and a charity dedicated to improving the writing of children ages 6 to 18, located at 826 Valencia St. in San Francisco, California. On their pirate store's website, there is a collection of pirate-themed posters that hang in the actual store. I put five of them on a parchment background and made them into posters for Sims 2. (Yes, there are more on their site, but I chose the most nautical ones.

I used Maxis meshes, so there's no extra download, but most of them do require an expansion pack to work. EP's required are University and Nightlife. ("Salty Deck" is basegame. "Uses for Lard" is Uni. All others are Nightlife. Posters are "Surfing the Universe," "Engineered Angst," and "Grilled Cheese.")
Files have been compressorized.
